The last time I had such an outing was… err, I can’t remember, coz’ that’s probably centuries ago. The main reason was, well… I was too busy with… err, ok la don’t bother to explain, later you guys say I “doh doh lan yeh“… haha.

This time, our getaway’s Fraser’s Hill.

If you are the type that prefers “happening” occasion, then all I can say is this is definitely not a good destination for you. Visitors here are mostly those who wish to get rid of their hectic life and desire relaxation through natural tranquility and serenity.

For those who are planning for a gathering, BBQ or steamboat dinner, this is probably one of the choices you may want to consider.

Upon back to KL, we proceeded with a simple celebration. Again, someone’s getting old. :-P

Though it was just a weekend getaway, much preparation has been made, not to mention the difficulty to gather everyone (special thanks to the organizer(s)). It doesn’t matter who and where we are, but the opportunity of being together, the moment that we shared together, that’s irreplaceable…

Hopefully this tradition can maintain forever…

I’ve been busy traveling in between Johor and Singapore these few days to visit both my grandmas since I’m leaving to Japan soon.

Ya, I’m such an obedient grandson, hor…? :-P

Many things happened during these few weeks of holiday. Most of them are, well, not good ones… That’s one of the reason why I seldom choose to stay at home for too long.

Yet as we grow older, we come to know that this is part of our living process… Life is full of obstacles and it’s impossible that we can hide from them forever.

What more important is how we look at each of them and what we can learn from every obstacle we face.

Met one of my seniors who’s currently working at Singapore yesterday at City Square. Got to know some info on working in Singapore from him, and that makes me becoming more reluctant to continue master.

For years, people around me, especially relatives, have been “brain-washing” me, saying “go study higher and get better job in future”. Does that still apply in this generation? I doubt it…

It’s been a hard decision for me to choose whether to continue master or just come back to work after 6 months in Japan. Right now there’s nothing much I can do to ease the predicament. So I’ll just wait till the time comes…

I gotta admit I’ve been living in cave for years. Despite born in KL, this is the first time I landed my foot in Shangri-la Hotel.

OK, I’m not the bridegroom. She is the daughter of the daughter of the sister of the father of my father (yeah, I just love making things complicated :-P ). In short, my cousin sister…

He was the 3rd brother in the family (my dad being the eldest).

He was once a great chef working at Brunei.

He used to cook very nice meal for us during Chinese New Year.

He bought my first “spiderman” toy figure when I scored well in my kindergarten exam. I was 5 years old back then, if I’m not mistaken…

…and last Friday, he had passed away.

It’s not that we didn’t see it coming. He had been diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (S.L.E.) and Hypovolemia for many years back then. He had been fighting and struggling to survive from these illnesses, endured much pain and spent countless night in the hospital…

… and in the end, he left us… forever.

You will always be in our memory and we miss you, Uncle Sang… May you rest in peace…

EMPTA was one of the big sponsor in my education life. Since primary school, I’ve been “forking” out some money from them every year. Small money, big money, whatever I can get, I’ll sweep everything (I’m pretty greedy huh? muahahahaha… =P).

But all this has come to an end… This is the final year I’m eligible to apply for it.

The “one kind” face… Get caught on candid camera. =P

You may ask why… Well, people grow old and it’s harder for old people to ask for money from others… too bad for me…. =P

After the prize giving ceremony, we went for lunch at a Korean BBQ restaurant near Kepong, DAORAE. It was not the original plan, but there’s a “girl” who’s so eager to try it just because her favourite artists was there before (duh… girls can spend anything on things they are crazy bout…). In the end, the whole family just bear with the decision.

What we don’t expect much is always something that will surprise us most.

At first we thought it was just an ordinary Korean cuisine restaurant with only Kimchi. We order 2 sets for taste trying. Yes, the food comes with Kimchi (as expected), but with a lot more than that. The waiter was very friendly to help us BBQ the meat and teach us HOW to eat Korean food.

Wah, eat food also need people to teach one ar?

Yes, it’s special… the cooked meat itself taste nothing, but after a few combinations and “combos” with other dishes, it taste FANTASTIC !!!

Well, it’s the same in life… thing which we think is insignificant to us,  is crucial to another thing that’s important to us.

Since it was my day forking other people’s money, I ended up being forked to foot the bill…
