I gotta admit I’ve been living in cave for years. Despite born in KL, this is the first time I landed my foot in Shangri-la Hotel.

OK, I’m not the bridegroom. She is the daughter of the daughter of the sister of the father of my father (yeah, I just love making things complicated :-P ). In short, my cousin sister…

This flame-like sculpture is similar to one of my pendant. A symbol that reminds me of some memories during secondary school.

Nothing much to update lately, just came back UTM to settle some stuffs to postpone my convo and ended up without solution.

Wanna find lecturer for recommendation letter but he’s not around.

Went Singapore with the team members and have a look with the company I previously applied. To my surprise, the office’s SO BIG that it can hardly stuck 10 person inside.

Celebrated course mate’s birthday, someone’s getting old…

Will be bored to dead without these few gadgets with me for the coming 2-month holiday at home.

Have been sleeping in lab for few days and my back started to ache. Miss my sleeping bed.

Today, I’m going back home…

The initial plan was not to mention anything until the time is right, but after being bombarded by “someone”, I suddenly realize that if I don’t announce it right now, I might be blamed when the time comes… so here it goes:

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m leaving to Japan soon…

Yokoso_Japan

During the end of year 2009, I applied for the Asian Youth Fellowship Program under the Japanese Foundation. It is a 6 months Japanese-Language learning program at Kansai, Osaka. The program aims to provide an intensive Japanese-Language learning course for researchers from ASEAN countries before continuing their master studies in any Japanese university.

Since it’s a scholarship, all the expenses (flight tickets, accommodation, tuition fee, food allowance, daily allowance, insurance, visiting trip allowance, bla bla bla…) have been taken care of.

At first, I only thought of applying for fun…  After all, I’ve not been very lucky in succeeding any scholarship since secondary school.

Until it really happens… This time, I’m lucky enough to be 1 of the 2 successful candidates selected from over 120+ applicants in Malaysia. The good news is, this will probably be the chance of a life time for me. Bad news, I’ve to leave many things behind.

After studying for about 17 years (more precisely 19 including 2 years of kindergarten) and considering that I’m one of the late-graduated kind from people around me, it’s quite a hard decision. But if I do not take the offer now, I know that one day, I’ll definitely regret it.

My exact date of departure is still uncertain, but the course will commence from 20 July 2010 to 22 February 2011, so I’ll probably miss my degree convocation and the coming Chinese New Year. This program will definitely cost me a lot in term of the things that I need to “sacrifice”. It is also these “sacrifices”  that will keep me burning and allowing me to make the most out of it as compensation.

To all my friends, I’m not sure if I’ll be back in one piece in future. Hence I hope this blog can serve as a medium for me to communicate with all of you in future.

Gonna miss you all…
